Knuckles threw a punch at a invisible enemy as he thought about the master emerald then he suddenly stopped. ''what was that?!'' knuckles thought. he stayed silent to hear ''lets get out of here...make sure to take the hedgehog and fox rouge.'' ''Rouge?! What is she here for?!'' Knuckles said under his breath. Then for a second he thought he saw a black echidna. ''Wait...that cant be.....'' Knuckles accidently said outloud. Rouge stopped hearing Knuckles and said ''hey...I just heard something...'' The black echidna snickerd. ''This is to easy. I know its him...you guard the fox and hedgehog ok rouge? And dont mess up something easy like this Rouge ok?'' And before Rouge could reply he stepped into the light reavling a cat tail and cat ears. ''I should have gotten rid of him years ago. But i'll manage to have some fun with this'' the black echidna said with a sneer.
Knuckles decided then that he should get out of there and he started to dig when the black echidna appeared in Knuckles cave. ''Well well...what are you doing trying to run? Heh..you realize how much trouble your in don't you?'' The black echidna said. ''Great...i cant run...but if i fight him im finished...'' Knuckles thought. ''Hmmmm? Scared already? Thats not like you..hehe..this will make it more fun for me.'' Knuckles stopped with a startled look on his face. ''You are...my brother! What are you doing teaming up with Rouge?!'' Knuckles angrily said. ''Me teaming up with rouge?! dont make me laugh! She's just temporaily working with me.'' Said the black echidna. ''Heh..always denying the fact that your not a loner huh Dark_Energy_Knuckles?'' Knuckles said. Dark_Energy_Knuckles then took out his sword. ''Stay still and ill make your death quick. or if you want you can die with a fight...'' he said. Knuckles got in a fighting stance and replied with ''who says your going to kill me at all?''
