Chapter One The silver flash is quick. She stares hard at Tyson. She smiles happily as she knocks his blade into his hand. She picks up her blade. Her dark sapphire eyes light up as she walks towards the Blade-Breakers. She holds her hand out. ‘Good match, Tyson,’ she says as she shakes his hand. ‘Yes, but you beat me so easily, and how did you know my name?’ he asks staring at her. ‘I’d know you anywhere. Its been my dream to join the Blade-Breakers since I was young. I have studied you for years.’ She smiles. ‘Sorry, I’m Sapphyre.’ ‘Tyson. That’s Kai, Kenny, Max and Rei.’ He points to each on as he says their names. ‘Hello,’ she says, her eyes lingering on Kai. ‘And sorry about defeating you so quickly.’ ‘Can I see your Beyblade?’ Rei asks. ‘Sure.’ Sapphyre throws her blade to him. Rei stares at it. ‘I’ve never seen this kind of Beyblade before.’ Kai takes it from his hand. ‘Sylver Dranzer.’ Kai frowns at the silver Beyblade in his hand. I know this blade, he thinks as he looks at her, I know her, but from where? ‘Where did you get this?’ Kai’s eyes burn into hers. Sapphyre frowns at him. ‘I don’t remember,’ she snaps. Everyone stares at her. The sudden change in her voice tone shocks them. ‘You say you want to join us?’ Kenny asks, changing the subject. ‘Yes, that is right. If, if you will take me.’ She looks at them. ‘We’ll do it this way. You battle Kai, if you win, you join us, if you lose, well, lets just leave it at that,’ Tyson explains. ‘Sure.’ Sapphyre steps up to the bowl. She catches her Beyblade when Kai throws it to her. She loads it to her launcher. ‘3,2,1…LET IT RIP!’ Tyson calls. Kai and Sapphyre launch their blades. They crash. Kai’s blade draws back and goes back in. ‘Dranzer, Silver Dust!’ Sapphyre orders. ‘Huh?’ Kai asks as he watches the silver Beyblade. The blade begins to send out silver specks of dust. They hit Kai’s Beyblade, slowing his spin. Sapphyre smiles. ‘Quicksilver Fire!’ she orders, eyes sparkling. A silver spurt of fire comes out and engulfs Kai’s Beyblade. It knocks Kai’s blade out of the bowl. Kai stares at it. ‘Sapphyre is the winner!’ Tyson announces. ‘Welcome to the Blade-Breakers!’ ‘She knocked Kai’s Beyblade out of the bowl in less that five minutes!’ Kenny says in disbelief. ‘Awesome match, Kai,’ Sapphyre tells him as she holds her hand out. Kai takes it. Sending fire through both of their veins. ‘Yes. You are good. Looks like I still have a lot to learn from you.’ He smiles. She stares at him, a perplexed frown occurring. ‘Wow, with you on our team, no-one can stop us!’ Max declares as he lightly slaps her on the back. ‘Don’t expect me to win every battle for you!’ She smiles and winks. Tyson’s stomach growls. ‘You cant be hungry, again, Tyson,’ Kenny tells him. ‘It wasn’t my stomach, Chief,’ Tyson says as he backs away. ‘Yeah right,’ Rei says looking at him in disbelief. ‘No, he’s telling the truth,’ Sapphyre replies. ‘It was mine.’ She looks a little sheepish. ‘Huh?’ They all look at her, wide eyed. ‘Yeah.’ She scratches the back of her head. ‘I’ve been tracking you for the past three days. I haven’t eat or slept,’ she explains. ‘Well, we had better get her something to eat, and defiantly some sleep,’ Kai says. He watches her. The way she yawns, she’s barely staying awake as it is, he thinks. The BBA bus just then. Mr Dickerson and Tyson’s grandfather get off. ‘Welcome, Sapphyre. I knew you could do it,’ Mr Dickerson tells her, shaking her hand. ‘Hello, Mr Dickerson,’ she says, before collapsing. |
