The Reunion “Kenshin Himura!? So Masaharu is alive? Yoko will be so happy. I’ll let her know you’re here.” “Thank you, Chen,” said Kenshin. “And please tell her that I’ve brought a helper with me.” When Chen had left, Kenshin and Sanosuke sat down and waited for Yoko. “I still can’t believe you have a sister Kenshin,” said Sano. “I just can’t picture you with family. I guess it’s the wanderer thing.” “I guess it is hard to believe,” said Kenshin. “I’m starting to find it unbelievable myself. I just haven’t seen her in so long.” Then Yoko entered into the waiting room. When she saw her brother, she was almost too shocked too speak. “Kenshin!? Is it really you?” she asked. “Where have you been? Everyone has been worried about you, but I guess they’re worried about me too since I did run away.” “It’s nice to see you too, Yoko,” he said. “I came as soon as I heard what was happening here. Are you alright?” “I’m fine. But many of our members have either been captured or killed by Kashu and his men. The Oni Waban group is strong, but we can’t defend ourselves for much longer. Kashu’s influence is too strong for that.” “Yes, I’ve already had an encounter with him, or at least his second-in-command, on the way here to Osaka.” “You did!? Are you alright?” “Yes, I’m fine, thanks to my friend Sanosuke here. If it weren’t for him I probably wouldn’t have made it here. He insisted on coming to help me, so I just had to let him.” “All in a day’s work, Kenshin,” said Sanosuke. “So, you saved my big brother, did you?” said Yoko. “Thanks a lot. Seems like he’s always getting himself into trouble. What would happen to him if people like us weren’t around?” “Actually, Kenshin’s saved me more times than I can remember. Guess you could say helping him out with Hiroyuki was the least I could do. And to think I tried to kill him the first time we met.” “So, tell me about your run-in with Kashu’s goons,” said Yoko. “I want to hear everything that happened.” “Well, it all started with Sanosuke and my friend Kaoru fighting,” said Kenshin. “It was interrupted by an injured Masaharu coming to us and asking for help……” “……and then we came here.” “Wow,” said Yoko. “I can see that stopping Kashu won’t be easy. But with yours and Sanosuke’s help, I’m sure that we can defeat him.” “You can count on it,” said Sanosuke. “Yes, I will not stop until you and your group’s members are out of danger, not to mention the civilians here,” said Kenshin. “I will stop Kashu, if it takes every ounce of strength I have.” “Kenshin?” said Yoko. “What is it, Yoko?” he replied. “Thanks for your help…….big brother.” |
