The Memory of Love

Chapter 1:
Hibiki lay awake all night, unable to sleep. Everytime he closes his eyes, all he could see is a vision of a red-headed girl wearing a big, warm smile, her hands outstretched to him. Everytime he strained his ears to listen to the radio, he, however, could only hear the soft, cheery, familiar voice and the words "Uchujin-san" remained in his replenished memory. And then, a sudden scene struck him like a bolt of lightning. He remembered clearly that day. Yes, he remembered the day when he and Dita Liebley had the most memorable, yet painful, conversation ever. And that was before he realized how important Dita was to him.
*Flashback*
"Uchujin-san!"Dita called to Hibiki as she kept running down the hallway, trying to catch up with him. "What in the world do you need?"Hibiki replied coldly, slightly irritated. "Well..."Dita paused for a while, unsure of what to say. "If you dont have anything to say, you might as well go. I'm busy,"Hibiki told her. Then he marched away. "Mr. Alien, wait!"Dita called to him. Hibiki stopped and turned around. "What?"he snapped. "I..would like to give this to you,"Dita fished something out of her pocket and handed it to Hibiki. "What do you think am I going to do with this junk?"Hibiki asked irritably, pointing at the piece of necklace that Dita had handed him. Dita looked uncomfortable. "Mr. Alien..this is one of the most important things that I have..and Dita is hoping you could keep it for her,"Dita said, trying not to look at Hibiki. "Well, what are you trying to tell me? Entrust this to me and if I lose it, blame it on me?"Hibiki asked. "Then forget it!"he exclaimed, thrusting the piece of jewelry at Dita, then, continued to walk, leaving her alone. "Mr. Alien!" Dita called again, following him. Hibiki ignored her. "Mr. Alien.."Dita said once she reached him. Hibiki glared at her, but didn't say anything. "At-at first I thought you don't like me at all, but then you grew up on me. And now.."Dita stared at the floor, unable to speak anymore. Boy, was Hibiki so annoyed! "Do you really think it's like that? That I like you? Well, it's not! And it never will happen! Besides, I'm fine without you!"Hibiki told her, kind of loud. Forget the "kind" word, for indeed, it was loud. You could easily see through Dita the hurt expression on her face. Her eyes widened, and she felt as if someone had just slapped her on the face. Her body trembled, and without another glance, dashed out and ran as fast as she could, leaving Hibiki alone to think.
