Different world By Gloomyshadow Authors note:This is a 'Lain' and 'Digimon' crossover.This is my first crossover so evaluate from a new person's P.O.V.Contains only contents of 'Lain' not actually detail like the show.Similar points,but not a lot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 1:Dissapearing Rika went to her computer,but didn't turn it on.She stared at it wondering what her new computer would and could do.Her mom felt sorry for always leaving her daughter without a mother so she bought Rika a computer. "Another bribe.Let's see what it can do."Rika opened the computer. She searched through what it could do.The only other person that had a computer ( the closest she could think of anyway) was Henry. "Is it a good model?"Rika asked Henry on the IM. "Depends.If it's the latest model then of course it is,but most likely it is because your mom can offord it."Henry responded. "Ok...how are the others?"Rika changed the subject while skimming through thre manual. "They're fine.Even Ryo is."Henry sent then logged off. Rika looked at the empty IM and shut down the computer. "*Sigh*What do I do now?"Rika asked herself. ~~~~~~Somewhere out in city~~~~~~~~~~ Takato ran to Rika's house,but failed to see her there. "Where in the world is she?"Takato asked himself as he ran to Ryo's house Takato knocked furiously at his door. "Hi Takato..You didn't have to knock that hard."Ryo greeted . "Do you know where Rika is?Jeri is gone and maybe she knows where she is."Takato quickly said. "I don't know where Rika is,but it could be a possibility that they went together somewhere or that Rika dissapeared with her."Ryo responded. "C'mon,maybe Henry knows something."Takato said as he started out. "I'm coming with you."Ryo followed him."Maybe I can find Rika too." ~~~~~~~Rika's walk somewhere~~~~~~~ Rika turned around and saw Takato and Ryo running somewhere. "Ryo!Takato! Where are you guys running to?"Rika called as she met up with them. "Rika is still here,now we have to ask Henry about Jeri."Ryo told Takato. "Jeri's missing?"Rika asked as they moved on. "Ya,but Takato will explain more later.The last person to know about something is Henry."Ryo replied as they continued running. When they reached his door Suzi was wandering in the hall. "Suzi,is Henry there?"Takato asked. "Ya..he told me to wait here until he's done hiding the sweets."Suzi replied. "This can't wait."Ryo said. Just as Takato was about to knock on the door,it opened and Takato punched Henry on his face. "Ugh..what did I do?"Henry asked as the others looked down on him. "Sorry Henry,but have you heard about anything on Jeri?"Takato asked immediatly. "No,the last time I spoke to her was online."Henry responded while Ryo helped him up. "When was that?"Rika asked. "I'll check in my computer.Come in,my parents aren't home now anyway."Henry moved to the side. ~~~~~Henry's room~~~~~ "She was asking about the wired.It's a new thing online.After that She logged off."Henry sat in front of his computer. "That still doesn't help.Where could she be?"Takato whined. "Takato whining about your lost girlfriend won't bring her back.Did you search other places where she might be?"Rika changed the tune. "Ya,but she isn't there."Takato continued to whine. "Did you look in the digital world?"Rika suggested. Takato's head rose to the others. "No,but why would she go there?Leomon's gone."Takato looked down again. "Takato the digital world is made up of data.We can find more answers there than here."Henry came in. "That's right."Ryo agreed. "Fine.Tomorrow though.It's getting dark."Rika sighed. ~~~~~~~~~Next day~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ryo got to the planed meeting place.Guilmons old hideout.There stood Rika and Henry. "About time Ryo."Rika greeted. "Where's Takato?"Henry asked. "I thought he'd come here first."Ryo said. "Great,now he's gone too."Rika killed. "Maybe he's in the city held up by something."Henry suggested. "Ya,maybe."Ryo said. "Fine,let's check,but keep your cell open."Rika walked away. "I'll go downtown,Ryo you can go with Rika,I can handle myself."Henry parted. "Ok,if you say so."Ryo went Rika's direction. ~~~~~~Somewhere in the city~~~~~~ "I can take care of myself."Rika snickered as Ryo followed her. "I would have objected,but Henry ran too fast."Ryo said. "Whatever,just keep your distance."Rika waived off. They went to the library and found only one working computer. "What does it say?"Ryo asked when she checked what it said. "We've got your friends,now we're going to get you.Now all the electronics around you are your enemy too."Rika read. "There's nothing here but this computer."Ryo looked around. "Look above you Ryo,so are the lights."Rika noticed. As soon as she said that the lights began to blink then shoot out sparks. "Crap!!C'mon Rika."Ryo ran. "Ugh,where do we go now?Henry could've been caught by now."Rika yelled as they ran through the crowds. "I know one place where electronics wouldn't bother us."Ryo led Rika to the only digi-portal they had. "It is our only way out."Rika agreed. The street lamps flickered and shot sparks anywhere.They jumped in and it all stopped. ~~~~~~~~~To be continued~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I just hope this is an improvement. As for Nonaka's burden,I'm not sure if I should put the last chapter up becuz it prctically sucks. |
