That afternoon, in Dr. Light's lab, a surprise message had been relayed. "Listen up, puny humans," the message said. "I am your future ruler. I am called King. The robot with the greatest power should rule, and I am that robot! You puny humans stand no chance against my invincible army! Ha, ha, ha, ha!" The message then ended. "Robot army?" asked Roll. "What robot army?" "Megaman," Dr. Light said, "will you investigate this incident?" "I sure will," he replied. "Thank you. This 'King' person should be at the Robot Museum." "Right. C'mon, Rush!" "Arf!" Then they were off. "There is the entrance," Megaman said. "I'll take it from here, Rush. You go back to the lab." Rush did as he was told. At that moment, something, or someone, teleported to the point Megaman was at. It was Bass. "Megaman!" he exclaimed. "What are you doing here?" "I was sent here to take care of King." "You? Take care of King? Don't make me laugh. You couldn't even destroy Quint!!" "..." "Leave a job like this to the big boys." "We both know that we cannot defeat King alone. We should work together! Please Bass." "I'll never join with you!!! I'll bet you are just trying to get me off guard." "No! Please, Bass. Just this one time." "....... Ergh. Only for now. But after this, I will defeat you."
