i have a really weird taste for anime and this one caught my attention. ive only seen the first dvd and thought the storyline and its characters are really interesting. anyone have any thoughts for the series too?

Yes, it is weird.  But quite interesting, as is anything that was created my Kaori Yuki (Count Cain is the newest one).

But, it isn't a series.  That is it!  Its a 3 episode OVA that was done just to advertise the manga series.  Which has just recently been released by Viz (vol 2 comes out May 9, I think).

If you liked AS, you should watch Please Save my Earth.  Again, it is a short OVA, but aslo has a manga version.
