Detective Conan premiered on the Fox Family Channel in fall 2000. The series was titled Meitantei Conan when it originally aired in Japan in 1996. The series is about an elementary school boy named Conan Edogawa, who is really 17-year-old detective Shinichi Kudo. When he had been checking out something suspicious a man dressed in black hit him over the head. He was given a drug to kill him, but it was an experimental drug. Instead of killing him, Shinichi reverted back to a small child. In order to keep his friends and family safe, Shinichi change his name to Conan and went to live with his girlfriend Ran's family, trying to act like a normal grade school child.
