Alien 9 is a very weird anime. The first thing that I noticed was the drawing of the anime. Sure there are lots of animes whose noses were represented by a dot or whatsoever. But this anime, the characters have no nose, even in profile shots. The reason why I liked this anime was because of the alien symbionts called "Borg". These aliens attach to the girl's head and protect them from harm. In return the girls allow them to feed off of them. The three girls, Otani Yuri, Toumine Kasumi and Kawamura Kumi are placed in charge of capturing all the strange aliens that land on the school ground. some reason these aliens can't, or won't, leave the school ground and have to be stopped before they are hurt or hurt someone. Their teacher, Hisakawa Megumi who explains that the three have been chosen to by the host for three alien symbionts, They have yet to give an explanation to why only young girls have to catch the alien (which get meaner and bigger as the episode goes on) or why the aliens keep landing on the school ground.

At first I thought that the anime would suck, because of the intro song. Then I found out that "Don't Judge an Anime by its Opening Song" so true when I watched the episodes. The ending song is great too, and you can feel the tension of the anime when background music begins to play.

The characters are cool too, especially Kumi Kawamura. She is a tall rather cold looking girl, and knows how to deal with problems. The story kind of focused to the young heroine, Yuri. But Yuri have this problem, she doesn't like any aliens around her, and literally hates them. So the truth is she has no passion for being an "Alien Control". But whatever she do, she can't quit. Megumi makes sure of that probably. And the last Alien Control, who seemed to have all the passion for everything, Kasumi Toumine. She's rich and got everything she needs. Different from the other two girls, for having the passion of her job, Kasumi is the best Alien Control in section 9.

All in all I gave the anime a good "8". The animation, story and music gets me into the state of watching more of this anime. Besides, this is one of the mystery animes. Simple story right?
