Angel Sanctuary, an anime with an excellent plot and great animation. I really don't want to give away any spoilers but some of the characters have "diffrent" pasts. Let me explain a bit about some of the characters as in "Adam Kadamon, a mysterious six-winged angel who is imprisoned in Elemenaki which is the highest level of heaven."

That is just one character, the story line is mostly well...heaven vs. hell, Lucifer being the best known and most powerful of the seven satans, controls hell. And Sevothtarte who is currently in control of heaven as the dictator who controls heaven.
Many, many characters and character deaths. It is a great anime that Adult swim won't air because suppostly there are a couple of "scenes" that they won't dub. You probably won't find angel sanctuary in wal-mart or FYE but maybe e-Bay. I give it a 10!! YOU MUST SEE IT!!

Ever heard of Angel Sanctuary? No? Well, of course, it is about Heaven and Hell. There is a boy who's past life use to be an angel named Alexiel. She rebelled against God and was sealed into a crystal. Her punishment was to be reborn as a human and have a horrible life. That life was a high school student named Setsuna Mudo. He always got into fights at school, but his main problem was that he was in love with his younger sister, Sara Mudo. Alexiel the angel had a twin brother named Rociel. Rociel wants Alexiel back so he does anything to awaken her in Setsuna. There are many problems when Heaven, Earth, and Hell collide. Angel Sanctuary is two OVAs. The animation and plot are fine, but horrible ending! ><
