The anime is dubbed from Japanese. The Nelvana dub of the anime is extremely retarded. Although the Japanese version of the anime is actually quite interesting. There are three seasons, Bakuten Shoot Beyblade, Beyblade VForce(2002), and Beyblade GRevolution. GRevolution really improved apon this anime's reputation. Nelvana really screwed this season over until recent releases of the DVD's having Japanese audio and subtitles and a super plus is that they were uncut. I can't say that the movie was all that great but, for beyblade fans, I would recommend seeing it. It really doesn't go with the story all that much either. (Which I am not sure why it wouldn't). Any ways, I will give this anime a 7/10.

Overall Beyblade is about a group of boys wanting to become world championships of beyblading. Below are my reviews on each season. :))

Beyblade season 1

Beyblade 1 was pretty good, with good character design and voices, music and storyline. All the main characters were interesting in their own ways but the characters Ray and Kai made it worth watching. Both characters brought more maturity into the programme as well as interesting stories. Tyson and Max brought more humour.

It was also good to see that season 1 was divided into parts, with each part focusing on one of the main characters, showing how all of them were great bladers. This was good since it gave the viewer the chance to enjoy watching a number of episodes on their favourite character being the best.

But unfortuantely as it came to the last part of the season, the idea of making all of the characters important as well as top bladers didn't really continue, which was a great disappointment.

Beyblade season 2

This was disappointing. The big blow was that the character designs changed to make Ray, Kai, tyson and Max look younger which did not fit with their more mature voices and behaviour (especially when one gets used to their look and age in season 1). It also made the anime look too kiddy which would especially be disappointing to older viewers.

It was strange to see the characters shrink in size as well making them look too young to be skillful bladers. The only good point was that the character face designs were better in someways then season 1.

Anyway the storyline was not as good as season 1, and battles did not look as great. It focused too much on the character Tyson, making him the only best blader, when his team mates also wanted to be recognised as world championships.

This season didn't give the same importance to the other characters as it did in season 1. Whenever it came to a top enemy blader, Tyson was the only one good enough to fight him, making his fights more interesting to watch. A disappointment to fans of the other characters.

Beyblade season 3

The character design changed again, making the characters look a little older (yeah!!!).

So far this season is not bad and much better then season 2. The storyline was much more interesting and therefore comes close to being as good as season 1. Also good music and beyblade battles.

The first part of Season 3 shows the bladebreakers breaking up since they want to fight each other in the world championships. It focuses a little bit more on Ray, Kai and Max, showing them to be very powerful bladers. (much better than season 2)

But personally it was disappointing to see another season make out Tyson to be the best blader again. It would have been great to see the other characters have a share in that glory for once, since each one of them were as determined as Tyson and skillful.

The story just ended up being unrealistic since Ray, Kai and Max did intense training to beat Tyson.

But overall it was good to see Ray, Kai and Max's beyblading fights to be a whole lot better. It was also great to see Ray and Kai fight eachother, and see Ray and Kai fight Tyson again.

Well the review will end here, half way through season 3 since the 2nd part of season 3 has yet to air here.

This show really annoys me. With all the unbearable
voices and the uncool lingo, this show would have to
be rated 4. The voice of Kenny is the most annoying.
At first, one would that he was a girl, or at least
one couldn't tell. His voice is so high pitched. He
needs puberty right away, God! Anyways, the grandpa
is so uncool. It's suprising that Tyson didn't shoot
himself. What kind of grandpa would say things like,
"that's cool man!" or "Hey, Dude!". That's so uncool
(shuddering).
On the positive end, one would have to say that tops
battling is an interesting idea. The tops spinning and
twisting to beat the opponent's top.
one can't help feeling that this show is in existance
only to promote the actual toys and products of
'Bayblades".

[This programme is probably dubbed from Japanese, although it doesn't look it]
This show is strangely good for one about "magical spinning tops" or whatever they are. The characters are cool, the animation looks nice and the plots are pretty good too (as with many Japanese anime cartoons). Beyblade is also quite funny compared to some, for example Yu-Gi-Oh, although not always in the places the writers meant! Overall, it is a fun kid's programme but it can be enjoyed by many people, except those who can't stand the lead character Tyson (and there seems to be many!) And finally, just a quick note: for some reason there are a lot of yaoi sites/fanfics for these characters (shows how people see them in 'many ways'!!) which is kind of funny seeing as most of the characters are (supposedly) under 13 years old. Oh - and in conclusion, this is a funny, sometimes confusing, but reaaly good show. 10/10.
