Card captor Sakura's english dub version was renamed cardcaptors much to the anger and disapproval of many anime fans! It would not have been so bad if this was the only thing that was changed.... Names were changed and episodes were cut... This upset and caused many anime fans to dislike this version and to search for and buy the original version card captor sakura.

Though Cardcaptors isn't as favoured nor as good quality as Card captor sakura in many peoples opinion, it is still like and was still the first way to see cardcaptors/card captor sakura for many fans.

In some peoples opinion though cardcaptors undergoes many changes it is typical for a dubbed version and is still deemed as good and still has its place in anime fans hearts though many fans choose to collect both cardcaptors and Card Captor Sakura as many people believe it is like watching two different versions!

The basic story
A young girl curiously opens a book and with it opens a new chapter of her life which is filled with adventure, magic and love. Along with her friends, Li, Madison, Meyling and the guardian beast kero, Sakura begins a quest to seal all the clow cards and become the next master of the cards.

This was given the top rate because even if it is a dub it is still another version of Card captor Sakura and is still a story that will whisk you away!

At first glance, Card Captor Sakura (CCS for short) looks to be a happy, cutesy, shoujo anime intended for a 13 and under audience. But that is not the case.

Card Captor Sakura is one of the best anime ever created by the wonderful minds of CLAMP. It is a lighthearted, yet deep story of a little girl named Sakura Kinomoto. She is just an ordinary girl until she stumbles across the Clow (rhymes with "glow") Book in her father's study one day. Sakura unintentionally releases all 52 cards in the magical book and that is where her adventure begins. Out of the book rises a small bear-like creature named Kerberos who gives Sakura the role of "card captor" to seal and bring back all the cards. But Sakura is not alone. She has her best friend Tomoyo Daidouji and a mysterious boy named Syaoran Li to join her in returning all these cards.

The plot of CCS is splendidly rich and makes for a great classic. Character development plays a key role in the story and helps to bring a little romance. The music of this series gives it a great atmosphere and the seiyuus are perfect. However, the series does lag a bit in the first season and may bore an older audience. The rest of the series makes up for that and really leaves you feeling satisfied.

There are two movies that go along with CCS. The first movie is not as good as the second movie in plot but makes up for it with better art. The second movie comes after the last episode of the series and acts as a final ending.

Card Captor Sakura is a great anime and everyone should watch it whether the viewer is a rookie in anime or a full-blown otaku.

Card Captor Sakura is about a girl who discovers a magical book and releases the Clow Cards. She then becomes a Card Captor and with Keroberos, creature of the seal, and her best fried Tomoyo she tries to collect the cards. She also has some rivals at first but they become friends and one, more than a friend. It's interesting but it does repeat. I mean in the episodes, she tries to capture the cards, struggles and in the end, she always succeeds. But it's so funny when someone (i won't tell you who, don't want to spoil it) begins to fall in love with her and tries to tell her but can't. But he's always there for her and protects her. Sakura's just very dense and has no clue of his affections for her. These episodes are very funny. I would recommend this series if you like comedy/romance/action. It's not much of a tragedy and it's not very serious. overall, it's pretty good.

Card Captor Sakura differs from the manga in MANY ways. First, let me explain the plot in the anime.

It tells the story of a 10-year-old girl (who's very kawaii! ^^) named Sakura. She looks at the books from her father's study, and finds one unusual one with a winged lion on on the cover which has the word on it,"Clow" (no, that it NOT the lion's name). She opens the book and it's full of cards. She picks one out of it, and it has the word, "Windy" on it. She reads the word out loud, and soon a rapid wind begins to blow, causing all of the cards to fly out and disappear into different areas in the city.

Soon, a stuffed animal emerges from the cover. His name is Kerobero (Sakura just calls him, "Kero" as a nickname) and tells Sakura she has the potential to use magic since she was able to open the book, which only people with magic could open. He mentions something about the Clow Cards which were supposed to be stored in the book, but Sakura breaks the news that they all flew out.

Kero makes Sakura a card captor (someone who seals away the evil Clow Cards) gives Sakura a staff, which allows her to capture cards, which do evil, if they aren't sealed away. Sakura then meets a boy named Li, who is also a card captor. At first, Li is competetive with Sakura about capturing the cards, but later on, their relationship turns into a romantic(in Li's case) and friendly one.

Sakura also has a best friend, named Madison (Tomoyo in the japanese version and the manga) who makes outfits for Sakura to wear when she's capturing the cards, and she videotapes her, so, yes, she does find out about Sakura's capturing of the Clow Cards, and Sakura knows it.

Another girl who wasn't featured in the manga named Mayline (sp?) shows up. She's obsessed with Li, as they have practiced the martial arts together in the past, and becomes even more obsessed when she learns that Li is a card captor. Yes, she is obsessed with him in an obnoxious sort of way. She's always gets angry every time Sakura captures a card instead of Li, and is therefore competetive with Sakura.

Sakura has a huge crush on a highschool boy named Juliene (Yuki in the japanese version and the manga). She considers him to be a beautiful person. I, on the other hand, stare and squint at him trying to figure out what makes him beautiful. Yes, I don't consider him to be good-looking. He's extra-nice to Sakura though, and best friends with Sakura's older brother, Tori (Toya in the japanese version and the manga).

Now, I consider Tori to be MUCH more good-looking than Juliene. I would call Tori a beautiful person, if I hadn't developed an interest (*hint* *hint* CRUSH *hint* *hint*) in Kaneda (from Akira). Tori is a bit rude to Sakura and will often have very brief fights (not the kind of perpetual "Did not!" "Did too!" fights, but the brief, he says something, she gives him a punch, he shuts up), but heck, he's nicer than your average every-day bro.

OK, now for the differences between the anime and the manga. One difference is that in the manga, Sakura only captures 34 cards, in the anime, she captures LOADS more of cards: dash card, move card, through card, sweet card, you name it. I wouldn't be suprised if she captured a credit card. And there are many other differences too. I personally like the manga better, but the anime is good too.
