Seikai no Monshou [Crest of the Stars], the first installment of the series, begins on the planet Martine. The planet is taken over by the Abh and the president, Rock Linn is forced to cut a deal with the enemy stating that the current administration may still have leadership of the planet and he will become a nobleman of the Empire. Ghintec, his son, will therefore become the nobleman of his world. At the time, he is only about 7-8 years old and becomes quite fascinated by the Abh and their ships. After the people of Martine learn of the deal they become enraged and consider Rock Linn a traitor. Ghintec then leaves Martine for the planet Derctuh to learn Baronh (the Abh language) and to learn about their customs. When he is 16, he leaves Derctuh to attend a military academy at the capital. He is to be picked up by Lamhirh and escorted to the Gothlauth, which is waiting for him. When the two arrive at the Gothlauth, Ghintec is introduced to the captain of the ship, Laicch (Lexshu) and is then shown to his quarters by Lamhirh. Halfway there the ships sensors detect a squadron of Union attack vessels pursuing them. Laicch orders Ghintec and Lamhirh to depart aboard a communication ship to the capital while the Gothlauth stays to engage the enemy ships. She wishes them good luck and they depart for Lacmhacarh.

During the journey Lamhirh spends much time worrying about Laicch and the Gothlauth while Ghintec is twittling his thumbs trying to find a way to cheer her up. After their fuel begins to be depleted, they stop in the Feubdach Territory to refuel. There they encounter the Baron Feubdach who insists that they stay for dinner. After being denied several times, he devises a lie about their ship being in need of repairs. After much attempt, they agree to stay but only for a short while. They are invited into a room where they are served drinks and the Baron's vassals insist on having Lamhirh take a bath and ask Ghintec to wait in the room. Shortly after he is poke with a tranquilizer and is knocked out. After her bath, Lamhirh is invited to dinner with the Baron. When she asks where Ghintec is, she says his father, the former Baron, is entertaining him. He then devises somewhat of an elaborate lie about why Ghintec is not there. After some disagreement, they continue eating diner and the Baron insists Lamhirh spend the night. She is shown to her quarters where she attempts to locate Ghintec and the former Baron. After some struggle, she locates them and is forced to steal an identification card from one of the vassals to get into the room. But she is blocked and heads for the dock where she boards her ship and is communicating with Ghintec. After some careful coordination, they agree on an escape plan. She pilots the vessel over the dome of the room they are in and on their queue, she opens the hatch and they are sucked into space where they are drawn into the cargo bay of the ship. They are then forced to engage the Baron in a duel and after killing the Baron; they leave the former Baron there to take back his territory.

After that long ordeal is over, they successfully make it to the capital only to find that it has been overrun by the Human Union. They are forced to crash-land on the planet's surface and hide among the local populace until the Abh return to take back the planet. On their way into town they are taunted by a group of gangsters in a car and hijack the car. By this time the police are after them for an alleged car theft. They make it to town and check into a local inn where they decide to spend the night. Later that night a room service person comes to the door and requests to change their sheets; Ghintec answers an after a moment of embarrassment declines the offer. Shortly after, the same room attendant returns with the police to arrest them. After Ghintec figures out who they really are, they take him hostage and when they try and enter Lamhirh's room, they are all beat up by her and the kidnapers become the hostages. After the fight is over, the group tells them they are a local group of revolutionaries who seek their own spaceship and independence from the Empire. They journey to Minn's (rebel leader) villa in the mountains. On the way, Lamhirh tells them off all the reasons they won't be granted a spaceship and at last, they become discouraged. While they are talking, they are intercepted by United Mankind troops and ordered to surrender. Lamhirh, being stubborn, throws a grenade into their hovercraft and it explodes catching the soldiers completely off guard. The group then runs for an escape tunnel in the hills and inter it while being chassed by enemy soldiers. When they reach the tunnel, they enter, and then blow up the landing cushion so the soldiers will get hurt when jumping into the tunnel. The soldiers give chase down the tunnel and continue chasing as the group blasts into an amusement park. The chase goes on for quite a while until the police corner them. After surrendering, one of the shoots Ghintec and an angered Lamhirh tries to kill him. Finally after a moment of confusion, the rebels pull up in their car and help them escape. Shortly after the police give chase and are decimated by rebel grenades. The rebels escape to a nearby funeral center where the undertaker launches them in a coffin, into orbit. Police aircraft attempt to shoot it down but are too late. After drifting in orbit, they are picked up by Rear-Admiral Spaurh and bought to the capital where Lamhirh's father informs them, that the Gothlauth was destroyed. Lamhirh gives Ghintec a cat to keep him company and they say their goodbyes as he heads of to military academy and she goes to continue her career in the Star Forces.
