Posts: 0 Score: 9 Rank: 147 | Kozuki Miyu's life takes a turn for the weird side when her mom decides to follow her childhood dream and moves to America to become an astronaut. Her father is accompanying her to follow his dream of building the next spaceship, which leaves Miyu parentless - but not completely alone. [Odd note: Miyu's mother and father are named Kozuki Miki and Kozuki Yuu. Tee hee. Get it? See MB. :P Credit Kylara] Her parents leave her at the Saionji residence, which turns out to be a temple (something else Miyu didn't expect, nor want). Coincidentally, the guardian/priest there has a son, Kanata (Miyu's age, of course), who neither has any idea of what's going on nor any control in the matter. But both Kanata and Miyu are left on their own when Kanata's father decides to follow his lifelong dream to travel to India. The odd couple gets a child to complete their happy home when an alien baby arrives in a slightly busted UFO and a "babysitter pet" named Wanya, an overly large talking cat who takes care of baby Ryu.
Sound strange? Miyu thinks so too, but she takes a liking to Ryu and maybe even Kanata, as well. Who knows what's going on in that boy's head, but it certainly is fun to watch Miyu and him interact. Ryu is the cutest alien baby ever to coo and wiggle across the screen, and he has a knack of getting into crazy adventures but still coming out unscathed. Poor Wanya is amusing as his bumbling babysitter (who insists that he is very capable, despite having gotten them stuck there in the first place). All the characters are comical, including a certain obsessive classmate of Kanata, but the show has a sweet air to it when it spotlights the odd but developing relationship between Miyu, Kanata, and Ryu (who can float, levitate items, and say "Mama" and "Dada" - all abilities which further complicate everyone's lives ^_^).
I love the ED song (Boy Meets Girl), and this show is simply so adorable and amusing that I cannot wait to finish watching it. It's not meant to be a philosophical show, so why mark it down for lacking sophistication? It's charming as it is. Since it's being digitally subbed, it'll be a while before it's all finished - but I do believe it'll be worth waiting for. ^_-
