An anime i didn't think much of at the time, since it had been given some bad reveiws..but upon watching it for myself, i ended up utterly hooked on it. The character designs are decent, each has a talent unquie to themselves, not overdone or angsty like you may see in some animes..as the episodes go on, you see more and more depth to their personalities.

It details the lives of 5 studenst attending the Dan Detective School, which was founded by the greatest detective known, Dan Morihiko. There's Kyuuu (always dreamt of being a detective), Ryu Amakusa (the mysterious bishonen, very smart), Megumi Minami (Photogrpahic memory), Kinta-san (Descendant of a famous fighter) and Kazuma (Programming genius).

The show has some excellent plots, the mysteries themselves are really good, puzzling enough to make you go hankering after the next episode to see if you were right! Theres comedy in the assistant of Dan's, Nanami, whose job is to look after the students (which seems to entail dressing up as a cactus, a maid at a lodge, and several silly disguises), and Kyuu seeing Megumi's underwear, and yelling out the patterns.

Overall, an excellent anime, not too demanding, but scary and funny in turns, thoroughly enjoyable, you won't be able to get away with watching just the one episode!
