The first season was the best. I watched parts of the 2nd season but not fully. It was ok but the kids just seemed annoying with like cody & yolie. I couldnt believe that tk & kari were "weak" like the other kids which was really stupid since they were the original digidestined so they couldve made them better at handling the situations with their digimon better rather than being "what do we do now guys?"

I never saw most of the 3rd & 4th season. I only saw a few episodes of each of em. They moved them to disney right? I didnt have cable so I couldnt watch them anyway eiter. But the 3rd was somewhat boring with the kid getting a digimon from his drawing & the whole merging with your digimon to fight was just lame. The 4th was stupid since they kept getting beaten all the time & all the god digimon got beat. WTF? by this little demon angel lol. 3rd & 4th seasons really blew.

I wish they made a 5th season with one that is like the 1st where the story line is good & there are like half naked divivolutions.

Despite the other reveiws I really enjoyed digimon, let me explain.

The plot is far more then just simple when you put things into perspective, when you consider the anime only, then yes, it IS monsters fighting eachother along with whatever interesting plot the creators can come up with, that itself is probably pretty simple when compared to other anime. However, if you also look at the manga and manga specials and also the wonderswan games things get very complex, not only are there multiple versions of the digital world depending on your dimention but it can also be further divided into the past and future, many characters, Ryou Akiyama, Taichi Yagami (not the same as adenture taichi), Ken Ichijouchi, Daisuke Motomiya, Wallace, Takuya Kanbara, Vandemon, Chocomon (wallace's lopmon and all of his evolutions and pre-evolutions) and an unkown digimon known only as "Naa-chan" respectivly not only show a deep connection with time and space, they all have the ability to travel through these dimentions that digimon belong in or even manipluate their powers and create there own worlds. All of these dimentions are connected in one way or another thus connecting seasons 1-4.

The dub version of digimon it HORRIBLE, the only good dubs infact are german, latin american (there are two diffrent spanish versions: european and latin american) and the english dub shown only in malaysia. Not only was all the original music replaced but all of the names were changed, personalities were changed, all contact with the acception of some digimon battles was edited out and most violence was edited or axed all together, the terminology was changed a bit (they changed "Evolution" to "digivolution" "Chosen Children" to "Digidestined" "Digimental up!" to "Digi-armor Energize!" etc.) very little of the original dialoge survived and instead replaced with many puns and tried to give it a happy-go-lucky feel even in scenes meant to feel sad (there are many jokes at inappropriate times) dramatic scenes are also sometimes wattered down with dialoge with way to much dialoge. Characters personalities were sometimes changed as well.

That being said, the third season was the BEST, the plot was darker and the characters far more developed. The animation was beautiful in some scenes (most notably in renamons evolution scenes for me) just about everything seemed to be more mature and was meant to show the darker side of digimon.

Digimon Frontier, despite its cons also had its pros. It had dared to go were digimon hadn't gone before (with terrible concequences rating wise on both sides of the ocean) as long as you are open minded the concept of humans evolving into digimon can be quite interesting and a bit of a refresher. The plot could have been better however its dramatic twists are always a plus.

Digimon Savers (currently airing in japan since April 2) so far is excelent. They have a completely new theme singer for both the opening and ending themes, not to mention a diffrent anime stlye shifting from cartoon-ish anime to well, just plain old anime. it is still to early to be determining a plot but I can assure you that I'm looking forward to it, and it might be interesting to see what they might do to digimon in the english dub considering it has gradualy gotten better over the years. It brings back partners but as a warning the main character Masaru does not wear goggles and at first glance looks like a girl with his ponytail.

Overall, I would suggest the raw or fansubbed version to pre-teens to teenagers wile the dub for children and pre-teens.

Digimon was a great anime. The first and second season where by far the best. In the first season the characters, the story, the digimon, where all great. The story around the first 2 seasons was the most attractive and interesting part: the withholding of Angemon's evolution until the most climactic moment, finding out Kari was a digidestine, the part of the antagonist, which was made pretty well, seeing how interesting and complex they were, the interesting digimon, the great story and interesting twists in the first season. and of course the great final episodes, always filled with excitement. The second season was just as great. The new characters and the old ones being back as well, just made it a great story with some old friends. The new way of digivolving also was an interesting part of the story. The new villans couldn't have been better!! They were evidently the best part! Especially the incorparation of old ones. The final episodes of the season marked the best times for digimon. All digidestine coming togehter, giant battles, strange and awe inspiring villans and of course a great plot and climax.
But sadly all good things must come to an end. When Digimon entered its 3rd seaaon, it was no more. The old characters never to be seen again, only three digidestine and a totally mangled plot. and the 4th, well by then everybody had stopped watching digimon because of the poor performance of the 3rd. The 4th was slightly better than the 3rd, but with out the digidestine not having digimon and the lack of great final episodes that combined many digidestine coming together, extraordinary battles, interworld relations and old characters coming back it had lost all its interest.

Aside from the Tv series, the movies were a very amusing, interesting part of digimon, adding to its short lived greatness.

The first season of Digimon is about these 7 kids that all went to the same summercamp who get transported into this digital world. No one quite knows how they got there but they did. Anyways as soon as the 7 children (digidestins) got to the digital world they were each given a creature (digimon) that there own personalities. The digimon already had known the chidren's names. After that the chidren have to learn to work as a team and defeat evil. Now this is where it gets really interesting when they finally go home (taking the digimon) the digidestins there of another child with a digimon (another digidestin). They all work together to try and figure out who it is. It turns out be Kari (aka Tai's little sister) who's digimon is Gotamon. Kari is my personal favorite she's always sticking up for others. I've given a lot away but the rest is for you too find out.

If you’re looking for an anime that has intense action, romance, and with high quality animation, you might want to steer clear from Digimon. Both seasons one and two holds poor animation (dull images) and all seasons lack good fighting scenes. But in all, the anime Digimon is quiet an interesting show.

By far, season one was the best. It was the first of the five seasons to introduce viewers to the magical world full of Digimon (Digital Monsters). Most of the characters as well were fun to watch as they developed throughout the season. Although the dub version’s voice cast could use a little help, Mimi’s voice was just horrendous, Sora was undoubtedly my favorite. She, along with Matt, seemed to benefit the most from their adventure and grew to have confidence in herself. Tai, labeled the leader of the group, tended to get on my nerves with his childish behaviors and bossiness, but I grew to like him as he changed. Matt was cool and my favorite male character and his little brother TK was adorable. Joe and Izzy were basically nerds but I thought Izzy was cool. After all, Izzy was the brains of the group. And Joe… well his pessimistic attitude did tick me off but I liked him. Kari, Tai's little sister, was okay. Not my favorite character however, she was mature aside from her age. Now Mimi is another story. She was beyond annoying. The worst character in all of the seasons in my opinion, her high-pitch voice, her unintelligent remarks, and her spoiled-brat manner really pissed me off and literally caused me once to put my television on mute.

In season two, it was nice to see the original characters from season one come back as older and matured teenagers. I felt Davis and Yolie (two of the newest characters) were really annoying and Cody was pretty poorly developed. I think the only reason I liked that season was because I got to the see the season one characters again.

Season three was pretty weird. But it was a little funny and the animation was sharp. None of the characters fascinated me like season one did though. The fighting scenes still could use help, but unlike season one and two, this would drag on and on. It reminded me of Dragon Ball Z, where once single fight would consist of three to four episodes. And I totally dislike that.

And season four was boring. Enough said.

In all, I give season one a 9/10

season two a 7/10

season three a 5/10

and season four a 5/10

and Digimon as an anime a 8/10

Digimon is a great show, to me at least. Some of the digimon can be pretty funny, i don't know why though. So far on televsion there has only been four series, the 5th one mgiht not be realesed for some unexplainable reason. Anyways, the 1st was i think very interesting and funny. (it might've been cause i watched it when i was 6 though. lol.) Um, the evil dude talked funny. That's what i remember. I really liked the first series! The second...not so much. The third, very entertaining. 'Momentai' lol. The fourth, well...was...different. Anyways, this is a great shwo and i think anyone should watch. (Except the first series, if you don't like bad guys with weird voices.) Oh! The fourth one has weird voices too. Yes, it is good.

woooooooooooosh!

Digimon - the second anime I ever saw, after Poke- we are evil and shall destroy your childrens minds-mon. And I have to say I loved it! There was cute monsters, reasonable animation and CHARACTER DEVLEOPMENT AND PLOT. Something Pokemon never seemed to be able to grasp.
It was funny, it was sweet and the digi-destined had realistic traits. The made friends, fell out, got scared...Ok, so they were just slightly padded stereotypes but they all had faults and strengths that made you feel for 'em.

Then came season two. Eyuck! Hands up who wanted to kill Davis, Kari and TK? *Raises both hands and wiggles them* Season three should be burnt. I don't even want to THINK about the other seasons.

It's a shame it got labelled as a kiddie anime, because it has so much more to offer than Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon.

So, Sophieachachacha awards this anime; seven stars!

The first season of Digimon was so far the best. The characters had great personality their digimon were okay and the evil digimon were great. The animation wasn't too bad and the dubbing had a few mistakes though. The plot was simple, fight the bad guys, and save the digital world, but at least it has a plot unlike Pokemon.

The second season new digi-destened really disapointed me. Davis had bad leadership skills and was an idiot, Yolei was a spoiled brat, Cody was just weird, and Ken was okay, at least he had a decent personality. They introduced new digi-volutions too quickly though, one digi-volution after another. Another thing is the older digi-destened were barely there. This season isn't great but it is good and if you liked the first one you should watch this one, but the first season is still a lot better.

I wouldn't say the animation was horrible (come on, you should be complaining about Lupin III's horrible animation) but not fantastic. The first series had plenty of room for improvement. The second series (I'd hate to admit this) was actually great because the characters were more mature, and I don't know--I just liked it. But not at the last episodes (which are always the the worst) of the season. The third season was the one that I complain about most. It was off at an okay start at the first 5 episodes, then it slowly became weaker. Sometimes the monster-fighting action became TOO much. I got tired of hearing the leader scream all the time, all of the characters were completely immature for their age (come on, these are 13-YEAR-OLDS! LITTERALLY!), the so-called 'humor' was very raw, and it was full of plot-holes that were never filled. Plus, WAY too many CG effects, the overdid that. Then, the story became too weird to bear. I mean there's these freaky-deaky things that happen--TOO MANY!

Look, if you want to see a GOOD action shows (appealing for teens, and reccomended for around the ages 16 and up) how about Yu-Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, or Inu-Yasha?
