Gravitation is a 13 episode anime featuring Shuichi Shindou as the main character. Shuichi is part of a rock band called "Bad Luck" along with two other teen boys. He's quite talented and writes the lyrics for the songs that Bad Luck plays. On his way home one day, he meets Eiri Yuki, a popular and handsome writer. Shuichi's newest lyrics were read by Yuki, who insults them and tells Shuichi that he has "zero talent." Shuichi pursues him and inadvertently falls in love with Yuki. He loves Yuki with all his heart, despite his being a male, and loves him as much as he does singing. He would go to great measures for Yuki, and he eventually surpasses all of Yuki's former lovers with his strong love for the handsome writer. Yuki however has a stubborn personality and rejects Shuichi in the beginning. Later on he falls for him and his cuteness as Shuichi decides to move in with him.

Meanwhile, Bad Luck has been rising to the top of the music world with their hit new song "The Rage Beat." Controversies begin to occur just as their songs hit the top charts. The media is curious of whether the relationship between the popular writer and the equally popular singer is real. Rival bands begin to get jealous of Bad Luck's popularity. A member of their rival band, ASK, is out to make sure Shuichi and Bad Luck doesn't surpass them by threatening Shuichi of Yuki's reputation. Shuichi must learn to overcome these obstacles, keep Bad Luck together, and retain his relationship with Yuki. But what Shuichi doesn't know is that Yuki hides a terrible secret.

Shindou Shuichi wants to make a famous band. He strives hard to achieve that goal, with nothing but fame and musical ambitions in his mind. Along with him are his friends Hiroshi Nakano, who plays the guitar and Suguru Fujisaki who plays the synthetizer. However, one day when Shuichi was working on a particular song, the lyrics of the song was blew away by a strong gust of wind away from his hands and into the hands of a famous romance novelist named Yuki Eiri. Shuichi was told that even elemantary school children can write better than him. From that day onwards, Shuichi is constantly looking for Yuki and have him explain his rudeness. Little does he know, this is love at first sight for dear little Shuichi.

Contains humor, angst, sap and a little yaoi.

Hmm...where to begin.
Well, let me just say that Gravitation has taught me a lot about myself and my goals in life. It taught me to be true to myself, no matter what others thought, and to never give up. Just like Shuuichi never really gives up on his dreams, I will always chase mine.

But seriously, this anime/manga is great!

The story that just draws you in from the very first page, the rich, loveable(albeit mildly insane) characters, their undyingly wonderful relationships with one another--I can't get enough!!

I must say, though, I like the manga better than the anime. The anime is only...13 episodes long, if memory serves me right (my mom is a homophobe so she won't let me have the dvds...;.;) and the story is much different in the anime than the manga. For one, in the anime, Shuuichi is already signed with NG from the very start. Also, in the anime, Noriko never becomes a part of Bad Luck. K-san's wife, Judy, never shows up in the anime, except for a keychain that you see in K-san's car once.

The manga's story is lessed rushed than that of the anime, too. It's longer, and goes into more detail about the character's pasts, mainly Eiri Yuki's. Although the anime has more flashbacks of Eiri Uesugi with Kitazawa. Also, in the anime, I feel that Yuki's split personality is better portrayed. Eiri Yuki--the moody author that just will not allow Shuuichi into his heart, whether he's doing that to protect himself or Shuuichi, and then there's Eiri Uesugi, the kind, gentle side of Eiri that only Shuuichi and Tohma have been able to revive.

Believe me, although I've only read 8 of 12 books, I can honestly and whole-heartedly say that Gravitation is one of, if not the best yaoi romance manga/anime that has ever, or will ever exist. I hope you'll give it a try. It's definitely worth it, and I hope it changes your life like it did mine!! ^_^ Pika pika!! ^_^

This manga has just about anything that you could look for and want. It has humor, sap, angst and most of all some yummy yaoi, not to mention a great story line and characters.
Maki puts very diverse characters together and creates a work of art and magic. This manga will truly suck you in from page one, it's hypnotizing.
You'll fall in love with the main character Shuichi Shindou, with all his antics and care free ways, how could you not?
In this manga you'll feel heartach, triumph and pure bliss along with a whole lot of humor as you see Shuichi struggle with being a teenager, trying to accomplish a life long dream with his best Friend Hiroshi Nakano and falling into a forbiden love.

Trust me, if you're looking for a good manga, this ones the one. seek it...buy it...love it! Gravitation.

Time comes un-done when the ribbons of life cease to exist. What will you do then?
