Posts: 0 Score: 1 Rank: 1147 | This anime is more true to the manga than the OVA films, and very enjoyable. It has some dark element- especially toward the latter half of the 26 episodes. It is not as lighthearted as many other anime and some very serious questions about life, evolution and death. But still feels like a show for younger teens, it's characters are mostly likeable and hateable suitably.
Sho Fukamachi and his friend TetsurÅ Segawa are your average high school students. Until one fateful day they come across a mysterious object in the forest. This object attaches itself to Sho and turns him into the Guyver, with a suit of armour that makes him a powerful fighter. Of course, the previous owners of the guyver units are looking to retrieve them. Plunged into a fight for his- and his friends- lives Sho encounters many enemies and a few friends as he tries to unconver what the guyver unit is- and where it came from.
This anime is- i have to say- a bit more closer to life than others. Sho is only 17 after all and his fear of the guyver is understandable, and so is his wish to simply move on. And as he realizes that the world wont leave him alone he is driven to protect his friends and others around him and defeat the forces that look to harm them. His journey to acceptance is long and hard. Tetsuro is approprialty worried about his friend and becomes Sho's sidekick- determined to help. Character development is good in this anime, as is the script. The music was fitting, though maybe not as fun as it could have been.
What i truly liked about this anime though was that it showed that battles have an affect on bystanders and friends as well. It maybe did not involve me as much as i hoped it would, and is a little predictable at points. And i felt they didn't really finish the story (Cover about the first 10ish volumes i think) but still a good series for anyone who enjoys anime, especially for the younger generations.
(I watched the Fansubbed version, a few of them are a bit off in terms of grammar- but still good and easy to understand) | Contributions: Reviews: 1 |
