Rank: 356 | Hellsing is an amazing anime, filled with action with an added touch of gore. Our hero is a vampire, Alucard (which is Dracula spelt backwards in case you didn't get that right away!) and he goes around following the orders of his master, Sir Integra Windgates Hellsing - a female human.
The story is in truth revolving around another character, Seras Victoria (to all other reviewers - this is how you spell it, because it also means "you will be victory" in latin - so no more of that celes and celas and stuff, ok?). In order to not completely spoil the anime, Ill stop writing the review now with these words - watch the anime, read the manga, listen to the soundtrack. Hellsing is great.

Rank: 703 | A genius anime. In 13 (bad luck number?) episodes you experience a world where vampires and other dark creatures exist. Not many people know about these things but there are organisations like Hellsing who specialise in exterminating the undead. Hellsing is ruled by Integra Wingates Hellsing. She is the last remaining family member (that i know of) who leads Hellsing. She is helped by Alucard (or Arucard, there are different translations but I think it is supposed to be Alucard. If you read his name backwards it says Dracula). Alucard is probably the strongest vampire who walks the earth. On differt occasions other vampires say it is an honour to be bitten b Alucard. The way Alucard acts and talks is fantastic. He is mad. He enjoys killing other vampires who have no honour. That is probably his motivation.
Integra Wingates, as said before, is the leader of Hellsing. She has a strong personallity and there are not many people who question her authoratie. She looks kinda like a man, but hey, no one is perfect. She has a personal vendetta with the Roman church because the Roman chruch is trying to destroy Hellsing. The Roman Christians aren't very popular in this serie. But then again, I doubt a lot of Christians will watch this sort of cartoon. The lead charecter of the Roman side is a (probably mad) priest called Alexander Anderson. He is what is called a regenerator. He can heel himself and he is not easily destroyed. He has some christian magic with wich he destroys vampires. He can summon al kind of razersharp blades. He has a problem with Alucard because he is a vampire and tries to kill him. The bettles between these two are fun and spectaculour to watch.
Another important figure in the series is Walter. He is the personal butler/guard of Integra. He has a small role in the beginning but he will turn out to be important for the storie. He has a nickname. The Angel Of Death. He fights in a very special way. Nontheless he is a great charecter.
The last important person is Cela Vicroria. She is a policewoman who becomes a vampire. She was bitten by Alucard and therfore he is her master. I don't really know what to think about her. She stants a lillte out of the storie because she is created as a clumsy person. Now and then you have the standerd anime look in her face when something weird happens. That was for me the nmost bothersome because it's a serious anime.
The story is a bid weird. The main problem is the increase of vampires and ghouls (the leftovers if a person is sucked drie by a vampire). It turns out that there is a weird computerchip which turns humens into vampires with a nasty atitude. They just suck everyone and kill everyone they see. The original vampires, the ones with honour, despise these fake vamires. Thats why Alucard helps the humans. There is another reason but you have to see the sereis to understand. The action is great, the drawings are masterfull, Just look at the crazy look of Alucard. The only thing that in my opinion is negative, is the role of some charecters. Some charecters are not completely wrokt out. Little personality depth. Despite this point this is a serie that everyone who likes blood, action, vampires, darkness etc. should see. |

Rank: 415 | | A very dark and insane anime. The story takes place in Briitan and follows the Hellsing Organization's fight to exterminate all damned creatures in the name of God. The Hellsing Organization is lead by Integral Windgates Hellsing which through following story line has a vampire slave named Arucard (Alucard, depending on translation)and a badass assistant named Walter (The Angel of Death). Then there is the police girl, Seras Victoria (a hotty) who almost dies, but Arucard brings her to life and she fights as on of Hellsing's Special Disposal Unit personel.While killing gouls find that there is a new type of goul in town created by something called freak chips. Following there killing of the ghouls new interesting characters arrive in the story like the Valentine Brothers, Incognito, and my personal fav. character Paladin Alexander Anderson, the priest from the Catholic's own secret vampire killing organization Iscariot, who fights Arucard serveral times. All in all an awesome 13 part series, especially for those with a holy vampire killing fetish. |

Rank: 277 | Hellsing is one of the darkest animes we have seen, only X and X/1999 is ahead of Hellsing. Alucard, the master vampire, goes around killing vamps for the Hellsing organization. His rival, a regenerist priest from the Vatican, is trying to kill Alucard.
Alucard has a servent by the name Sareas Victoria, who has a fear of blood, but she is a vampire. Victoria uses a 60mm cannon, the shells are made of silver (vampires are allergic to it), and blessed.
Alucard has two different guns he uses, a 13mm and a .50 cal. pistols. He uses the .50 cal. for the first part of the OAVs. On the second dvd Alucard gets the 13mm pistol which he uses to fight one of the brothers of the Brotherhood. He kills that brother and Victoria and the butler destroys their army of zombies and the other brother.
We haven't seen the last dvd but we haer it's pretty good and somes up the OAVs. |
