Inu Yasha is a Feudal Fairy Tale about a group of different working grouped people that befriend eachother and go around finding pieces of the Shikon Jewel, and use it against their enemies.

Kagome Higurashi is a 15 year old which happens to be the reincarnation of a 500 year old priestess named Kikyou.
One day Kagome unfortunately falls down a well and gets transported into a world of ancestors and demons. About 500 years back into the past really. And so she is attacked by demons and saved by one heroic halfbreed one, though he didn't seem that way at first. The halfbreed called Inuyasha and Kagome is then joined by others such as the lecherous monk Miroku, the demon slayer Sango, her pet, the two- tail, cat demon Kirara, and Shippou, the young fox demon.
Together, they seek out the jewel fragments and meet along the way other characters and enemies.
Eventually spending alittle more time with one another, they learn to trust and respect eachother.

You see a shell on everyone at first, but then after you've conversed with them, that shell starts to break.

Kagome leads a fairly normal life, in spite of her weird family. Her house is a thousand-year-old Japanese temple, and her grandfather talks about the history of the house endlessly(it gets annoying). Legend has it that the old well on the temple grounds keeps a horreble ancient monster at bay; Kagome never believed in those legends, until now. The well opens up and sucked Kagome inside — taking her to an ancient time of enchanted forests and giant demons.
Kagome is soon confronted by her odd resemblance to Kikuyo, the girl who controlled the magical Shikon no Tama talisman and imprisoned the legendary half-demon Inu-Yasha. Upon entering this weird world, Kagome is attacked by a demon hunting the Shikon no Tama; she unwittingly releases Inu-Yasha from his imprisonment, only to find that he's no hero.

Any anime fan, be he/she an enthusiast or a sporadic viewer, should acknowledge the genius of Inu-Yasha. The interesting plots and twists of the show are quite imaginative due to their interesting incorporation of Japanese history.
BRIEF HISTORY
The main character is a half-demon (1/2 dog-demon 1/2 human) named Inu-Yasha (duh ^_*). Like so many other demons, he is after the Shikon-no-tama, a powerful jewel that is used to bestow the desires of anyone who possess it. But like so many individuals who covet what does not belong to them, Inu-Yasha is punished for his greed. He is sealed to the Tree of Life by the arrow of his beloved, Kikyo - a priestess charged to guard the jewel. In the process Kikyo dies and takes the jewel with her in death.
Enter Kagome, an intelligent 14-year-old girl living in present day Japan. Life for her is just like any other 9th grader, normal for the most part. That is until her 15th birthday when she finds herself falling throw a well into Feudal Japan. There she finds out she is the reincarnation of Kikyo and has the Shikon-no-tama inside of her. She learns this little tidbit the hard way when it is ripped out of her side from a spider demon. While trying to save herself she stumbles upon Inu-Yasha, still in suspended animation. When he senses her he believes she is Kikyo. While the two try to retrieve the jewel, Kagame accidentally hits it with an arrow and it shatters and spreads over Japan into the hands of evil. This sets the scene for the rest of the series. Kagome, Inu-Yasha and a host of friends, Miroku, a perverted priest, Sango, a demon slayer, and Shippo, a young fox demon, all of which hate a certain demon named Naraku, gather the shards and battle demons in hopes to finally defeat Naraku.

In the opinion of this viewer Inu-Yasha rocks, and that's not said just because he's hot! (Yes that is a little disturbing but others think so too…right????????) It has sweet love scenes (when Kagome and Inu-Yasha are not arguing so that’s not often), jealousy, revenge, action-packed duels, death…all the makings of a great anime. Actually some television shows don’t even have that. It deserves more than a 10!!! The songs for the intros and outros are fantastic. All of the singers have beautiful voices and have composed wonderful songs. The characters are interesting and believable. The stories have a way of sucking in the viewer and its imperative to see every single episode otherwise life just doesn’t seem complete….. Okay that was a little overboard but Inu-Yasha is totally awesome and if possible everyone should see it. Then you’ll want to see the movies and buy all the season box sets and you’ll be spending you whole pay check on a weird obsession – no, no that’s just me (kidding ^_^).

Oh man, this show is the greatest! The characters are awesome, the dubbing is great, and the plot rules! It's great to know that there is some anime on TV that isn't horribly disfigured to make it for kids. *cough* 4KidsEntertainment *cough* Good first impression for people who are just getting into anime.

The best character, in my opinion, is Inuyasha's not-so-nice half-brother, Sesshomaru. I think he's the top contender for the best dub voice, but that's nothing. He's such a calm, collected guy, nd he's even got somewhat of a warm heart, especially when it comes to Rin, the cute little girl he saves. The second best character would have to be the great Inuyasha himself. He's such an arrogant guy on the outside, but as sweet as can me once you get to know his character. The third best character is definitely Kikyo, the tragic village priestess who died during a ruthless trick played by the evil Naraku. She sealed Inuyasha to a tree before dying, thinking Inuyasha had betrayed her, but don't think that'll be the last of her! (Partly because a main character, Kagome, is her reincarnation ^_~)

The dubbing of this show is so close to perfect it's scary. Despite the corniness that every show, even the great ones, sometimes has (Though it is very rare on Inuyasha) the dubbing is nevertheless fantastic. The voices are awesome, though sometimes I find Miroku's dialect a tad annoying. Inuyasha's and Sesshomaru's dub voices are awesome; they click with the character.

The plot of this show is truly amazing, and the great part of it is, it's not too compliated. They, meaning the characters, often reflect on the major parts of the plot, so it doesn't take too long, no matter where you are when you start watching the show, to catch up on all the info. It starts out as Inuyasha and Kagome just having to find the shards of the sacred Shikon Jewel, but the plot thickens after Kikyo comes in, followed by the lecherous, easy-going monk Miroku. Once they dsicover that the main villian of the series, a demon called Naraku, it suddenly becomes more of a race to get all of the shards first. Who will win? Naraku, or Inuyasha? Watch, dammit, and find out for yourself!

Inuyasha has the most terrific story line ive seen of any anime ..

Inuyasha has some weaknesses though like how kikyo is brought back and some of the animation is bad like when inuyasha uses his Tetsuiga it shows a black backround and white scrapes no actual action --' that totally sucks.

The strong point is how Kagome , a girl that is in love with the half demon inuyasha cares for him even though when kikyo comes back from the dead he totally fallsin love with her once he finds out that onigumi also known as naraku betrayed them.

Naraku is very evil he did so many bad things he nevers dirties his own hands he lets others do his dirty work like killing people.

If you havent experienced watching Inuyasha your missing out.

Fans of Inuyasha from the TV series on Cartoon Network have only tasted a fraction of what the Entire series has to offer. I personally have seen more than the first season and am up to episode 102. There's a lot to be said, though, between the CN version and the unedited subtitled versions. First off, the CN versions tries well at keeping to the true hillarity of some episodes, but if you were to see the original unedited versions, you'd bust a gut laughing at all of the hillarity. Also, there is "some adult content" in the CN versions, but if you watch the unedited subtitled version, you'll notice that there is a lot of hillarity that is left out as well as a lot of important things relationship wise. And let's not even get started on the pronunciation of the character names! Anyway, what else is there to say about Inuyasha but that it is a very well done Anime when viewed in it's original, unedited, subtitled (for those who don't understand Japanese) form, and that that the producer's of the Americanized version should try to do a better job at keeping to the essence of this truly classic Action/Comedic/Love story.

Inuyasha is a fuedal show of course. Its a great show but not for kids under the age of 12 because of some language and mild violence. The adult swim over 18 parental guidance is a bit over rated..

It is about a girl named kagome higurashi ,A ordinary
girl so she says,But she falls down a sacred bone eaters well and discovers shes a reincarnated,Priestess named kikyo, And she then finds out that this priestess was taking care of a sacred jewel of four souls,In which a half dog demon named inuyasha was trying to steal from the villlage that kikyo was in..

With her last breath and energy she tried to seal inuyasha with the fate of being bound to a tree with her sacred arrow. In which he stayed there for fifty years..

And now you have to find out what happens after that......^.^

Yup, InuYasha is one of the greatest animes ever. But really overated. Adult Swim says its for ages 18 and up, when it's fine for ages 12 and up. I mean sure there's a lot of violence and swear and occasional nudity, but it's not so bad as to saying it's for 18-year-olds. How do I know this? Because most of the people I know who watch these shows are between ages 12-15! COME ON!

InuYasha is great subbed or dubbed. Some of the voice acting in the dubbed is horrible though. The voice actors of Sango, Miroku, and Kikyo have no expression or feeling in them. Kagome's voice actor REALLY didn't need to do an annoying, preppy valley girl voice. Shippo needed a little kid to do his voice. They should've chosen Daveigh Chase (who was the voice of Lilo in "Lilo and Stitch", Chihiro in "Spirited Away", and played the murderous Samara in "The Ring") to voice act for him. She is excellent. Shippo has the most kawaii voice in the Japanese version! I think the best voice actor would have to be Richard Cox who voice acts InuYasha. He does a flawless "ticked off" voice, and just sounds like InuYasha.

The story line seems to drag at the first two or three episodes, but it slowly makes progress. Though they skipped some stories and scenes from the manga, it was quite faithful to it. I mean, come on, do you think Card Captor Sakura was faithful to the manga? NO. The idea of it was well-thought-up. Come on, could YOU think up something like this? Takahashi remains faithful to Japan in the Feudal times, but adds some of the Japanese myth and religon in to make it even better.

Overall, InuYasha really is an enchanting show. After each episode, you really wish more and more that you could become one of the InuYasha characters and go on adventures and such. This is a must-see for any anime fan.

InuYasha is an exceptional anime (and manga). It's very imaginative (Rumiko Takahashi is a genius!) and well-thoughtout. The characters are lovable, with great character development. InuYasha has to be my favorite. He's feisty, rebellious, stubborn, yet has a soft, sensitive side to him. Richard Cox does a wonderful job at voice-acting for InuYasha. Kagome's voice-actress needs to improve on voice-acting for her... The animation is gorgeous and breath-taking, especially the animation at the beginning song, "Change the World" and ending song "My Will". The songs are also something to admire. Though they're in Japanes, you don't seem to care, as they're catchy and beautiful. It has some GREAT humor in the show as well.

I reccomend this to everyone who's age 12 or older as it contains very violent violence, language, and some nudity (but you can't really see anything, and it's usually because Kagome is taking a bath, but in the manga you can see everything). But it's quite a tame show though. Watch it. NOW! (or read the manga!)
