Noir begins very slowly, as Mireille and Kirika, the two protagonists, undertake missions after missions to assasinate targets under the name of "Noir".

Fortunately, it picks up pace after the introduction of major characters Althena and Chloe, and the story delves deeper into the intricate pasts of Mireille and Kirika, revealing the mysterious deaths of Mireille's family, and the apparent non-existent past of Kirika's.

The music is superb, thanks to Kajiura Yuki being the composer. Who also did the songs for .hack//SIGN too, btw. Opening is great also, by ALI PROJECT.

BEE TRAIN has also done a great job in the art, as the anime shows rather beautiful scenery of France, where the story is based. A must-watch for those who liked .hack//SIGN's art.
