Posts: 0 Score: 3 Rank: 425 | | When Pokemon was first made it was actually very good. As the seasons went on the show started to plumit. At first everyone loved the show but after a while it lost its touch. I guess the writers of Pokemon lost their creative abilities and their minds. The plot also got very prodictable Ash and friends set out on adventure, go to an event of some sort, team rocket causes havic, Ash and Pikachu save the day. Hello give us a break we don't want the same old crap over and over. This show is extremly boring and I don't reccomend that you watch it. After all these years I can't belive Pokemon is still airing. Like who is actually nerdy enough to still watch Pokemon. But I do have to admit that most of the Pokemon are adorable then again the names are really cheesey. I wonder why the Pokemon can only say one word. It gets very annoying when they say the same thing repeatedly. Over all this is a disgraceful show that I think should be put to an end.

Posts: 0 Score: 1 Rank: 995 | Ahh, good old Pokemon. Regardless of what you think about this show, it single-handedly made manga mainstream in the west (and beyond). And are it's powers on the wane? Well, if they were, they're not anymore. Word on the street is it's making a comeback to it's former glory.
And rightly so. There are three main components to the Pokemon franchise: the Games, the Cards, and of course, the TV Show. They are all fantastic too, and are getting better with every new reincarnation.
True, the TV series may have a watered down plot, but this isn't intense, dramatic, serious stuff we're talking about here. Pokemon is synonymous with fun, and I find the show to be a relaxing, enjoyable and satisfying watch that doesn't get all heavy on you and doesn't demand too much brainpower from you. It's the TV version of a chilled out stroll in the park on a hot sunny day...if you get me.
That's not to say that it doesn't have it's moments. There are times when it can really push on the waterworks. For example, if you didn't feel ANYTHING when Ash thought he was leaving Pikachu for good, you're a heartless monster. And some of the big battles can really turn on the heat when they want to, especially the league battles.
The best thing about the Pokemon series is that they are telling one BIG story about one kid's dream to reach the top, something every kid dreams of, not lots of twee mini plots. This is much better then a show that starts from scratch with every single episode. It allows for an engrossing story that demands to be followed.
And yep, it's still going. Nearly a decade after Pokemon was born in Japan, this show will not stop - it's too engrained in society to just die out now; Pikachu and pals are here to stay. It's gone beyond being a TV show tagged to a craze; it's superb anime fun spawned by the biggest Japanese export ever.
Well, except noodles maybe...
