Posts: 0 Score: 1 Rank: 1009 | This Anime is great I love the action gunslinging action of Trigun I think that is one of my best animes ever made. I think that if they coutiune onto the manga that it would make the show even better I think my favorite character would have to be for the good guys is WolfWood because of how he always seems to surivive even tho he always gets shot up, He is my Hero XD I think also that another good char but is actaully a bad one is legato. His power is amazing but to other it might seem cheap but to controll others is a good power to me. I also like how the manga put him into a jacket which he could not use his hands or arms or anything.. But overall he still kicks butt. I also think that this is one of the greatest anime and manga's ever made..

Posts: 0 Score: 2 Rank: 389 | This is one great anime! It has great characters, action, and psychological development. I really enjoy watching anime that makes you think about the characters rather than sit in front of the TV watching the character, but knowing that they're way of thinking is really simple and that they're either going to do good all the time, or bad all the time.
The animation wasn't the best, especially in comparison to anime such as Escaflowne, but it wasn't terrible.
The dubbing could easily have been better, but I don't like the dub for most anime. I also don't like the Cartoon Network showed the series.
The villains were great, although I wish that we would've learned more about the Gung-Ho-Guns. Legato was great, though; and Knives was superb as a villain.
The music was very appropriate for this kind of anime. I usually don't like western-like music, but there are some wonderful tracks during the series. The music never sounds kind of off, and if you get the soundtrack, you are treated to some neat drama tracks.
The artwork was good. All of the characters looked their personality, which doesn't happen all the time in an anime.
If you're looking for a great anime that both moving and funny, and suspensful and relaxing, then you've got to have this anime! | Contributions: Reviews: 2 |

Posts: 0 Score: 1 Rank: 557 | | First of all I'd like to say that I have grown attached to a lot of animes and its characters, but this one is by far the best anime I have ever seen. It captures all the feeling and emotions that you could ever imagine. I started out watching this on Cartoon Network and I instantly got hooked. Basicly it is a story of an outlaw who has a 60 billion double dollar bounty on him and trouble always seems to follow him. After I watched a couple episodes I instantly went out and bought this series and I suggest you do as well because you will be doing yourself a favor by doing so. It has everything Action, Drama, Suspense, Plot (especially Plot). It has everything that you need to complete a perfect story. I give Trigun a 10 in every catagory that there is because it is just that good! |

Posts: 0 Score: 5 Rank: 175 | Trigun is for every anime fan. Whether you're into shojo or action, it's still great. It offers many things: great characters--well, first off, the most wanted man with 60 billion double-dollars who is also has a goofy, warm, and sweet side to him, (yes, I'm talking about the one and only Vash the Stampede) is my HERO! Actually, he's pretty much everyone's hero. I haven't met a single Trigun-fan who hates Vash. He's not only extremely cool (he's like a Matrix character! Only A LOT less serious ^_^) but extremely kawaii. Come on! You can't say he's not cute with all of the different kinds of expressions on his face and his tastes (loves to eat doughnut, loves to get drunk, loves playing with kids, and wants to get married to a beautiful girl).
I felt Nicholas D. Wolfwood's character was very strong. Especially what happens in his last episode...I was crying all morning (no exaggeration) at what happened. I still cry about it now. I would like to say what it was, but that would be a major spoiler.
Story and plot--well, I loved how they mixed comedy, action, and dark themes, all together to make one effective plot. The beginning is funny and light-hearted--just what you need to get rid of all of your stress. But then it gets darker--not the best thing to watch if you're in a really sad mood. I loved the way the made a good guy (Vash) have his darker side--for a very good, and yet creepy reason.
Animation--not the best, but it has it's own style. It may not be as realistic as Cowboy Bebop or Princess Mononoke's but once again, it has its own style. It won't bug you.
The action--wow! So cool and fun to watch! It's like the Matrix mixed with old western films! Sooo kewl!
Do I like Trigun? No...PSYCHE! I loooove this anime! Great fun! | Contributions: Reviews: 5 |

Posts: 11 Score: 23 Rank: 43 | First of all, I LOVE this anime. As soon as I heard Vash the Stampede (the outlaw that, as you know, is worth 60,000,000,000 double dollars dead or alive) say his famous line, "This world is made of LOVE&PEACE!" I became obsessed with that line and put it as a quote for many things. It's funny and at the same time action-packed.
Vash is probably my fav out of all the characters in this show. Sure, he is a 50% goofball, but he's also a 50% badboy. Now personally, I think the badboy characters are what make a certain anime appealing. Truly, I prefer laid-back badboys like Spike from Cowboy Bebop or rebellious ones like Kaneda from Akira(*huggles Kaneda*) but the goofy ones freaked me out. Vash is the one that freaks me out the most. I mean, who wouldn't be freaked out by a women-chasing, doughnut eating, weirdo who laughs (or should I say, cackles?) like a maniac? But that's what makes Vash so appealing! He's cool, yet weird. He's clever, but acts oddly. And who can hate his spikey blonde hair and red leather coat? (irrelevent comment:did you notice that almost every hero in an anime--actually any kind of show-- wears red? Think about it: Inu-Yasha, Kaneda, Daredevil, Spider-man, freaky huh?)
I do find this show a bit similar to Cowboy Bebop. Guns, money, but Trigun is more cowboyish and the characters and episodes are less serious. Not to mention Trigun's animation looks horrible compared to Bebop's crisp 'n' clean animation. Trigun is a bit like Outlaw Star in a way too. You know the reason.
Even though Trigun lacks good animation, look on the bright side, at least it's not like Lupin III's DREADFUL animation. If you see Trigun, I'll assure you that you will love it. But if you complain that it's bad...draw, partner! ;)

Posts: 0 Score: 1 Rank: 511 | Trigun: the tale of the legendary outlaw, Vash the Stampede. The Humanoid Typhoon. The Humanoid Typhoon. The man with $$60,000,000,000 on his head. Mankind's First Official Human Disaster.
He's a spiky-haired blonde who likes playing with children and eating donuts. And he goes around spouting "Love & Peace".
The series, for the first half, follows this pattern of weird apparent contradictions. It's utterly hysterical, and Trigun makes a simply excellent "intelligent" comedy: up until the halfway point, around episode 12 (there are 26 episodes). Up to that point, there is the constant mystery of how Vash got his criminal record if he's such a nice, teddy-bear-ish guy. A teddy bear with a custom-made .45 Colt gun that packs a wallop when he *does* use it, at least. Hints are dropped throughout the mostly-humorous episodes that lead the viewer to believe that there is something very, very different about the Humanoid Typhoon.. something that goes beyond donuts and skirtchasing. It's finally unveiled, to a point, in episode 12 where the show's main villain makes his first appearance: the ultra-cool, calm, and collected sadist Legato Bluesummers. From then on, the series gets extremely traumatic for Vash and those around him.
At that point, there is also a subtle, yet strong shift in the tone of the show. It masterfully goes from light-hearted humor with SD/chibi animation stints, to a darker, character-traumatizing, more serious plot. There is NO guarantee who exactly will live to the next episode. ...Maybe that's a bit of an overstatement, but.. just watch. The trauma will sneak up on you and leave you in surprised tears.
As for characters, those in Trigun are unparalleled in their multi-faceted personalities that just make *sense*. Or at least they do to Psychology majors.
Vash, despite his goofy side, has a darker, serious nature that he hides from the rest of the world--especially his friends. To quote a fan--"Oh My God, isn't he just... everything! How can you not love Vash!? He's cute and clumsy and naive and at the same time suave, smooth, and utterly dangerous." She started drooling after that and I cut that quote. But she's very, very right.
As for other main characters, in the first episode the two lead females are introduced: Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, disaster claims investigators for the Bernardelli Insurance agency, and 24 hour surveillance on Vash is their new job. After all, any kind of accident-prone outlaw who leaves entire cities in rubble is very... "high" on the radar screens of any decent insurance company. And so Meryl and Milly are there to keep him in line. ...Even if it takes 5 episodes for short-tempered-yet-loveable Meryl to come to grips with the fact that a donut-obsessed moron IS Vash the Stampede. Meryl tends to lead the party, and Milly keeps to the role of a trusty, sweet-hearted sidekick that usually has a mouth that's too big for the good of those around her. And as Vash commented on her, "My sole salvation is she doesn't realize how sharp she *is*."
The final main character is a chain-smoking, alcohol-drinking, almost-flirting-with-Milly "priest". Nicholas D. Wolfwood is as big of an apparent oxymoron as Vash is. While he caries around a large, wrapped cross that probably weighs over 100lb.. well, in the sake of avoiding spoilers, even IT usually causes lots of explosions. Lots. Wolfwood easily makes the claim as the 2nd most mysterious character in Trigun, and there really isn't much that CAN be said about him that wouldn't utterly spoil several episodes. Don't worry--take my word that he's really cool. Not as much as Vash, but still cool. ^_^
Of course, another major character---or group, rather---would be Vash's "family". But that would spoil things to heck and gone. Wait for episode 17. Everything is half-explained then, and I guarantee that up to that point in the series, you will NOT have guessed anything that's said in episode 17.
Of course, the customary question for all anime. Romance? Not really any, which is rather surprising considering all the skirtchasing Vash is guilty of in the first few episodes! The series is definitely tends to be more action-oriented and trauma-filled. Still, there are hints of romance for those who enjoy it. Wolfwood and Milly share an undeniable weirdly-sugary relationship of *some* sort.. and Vash and Meryl tend to pigeon-toe around each other in the last few episodes, after Meryl quits trying to beat sense into him. ^_^; It's a minor role in the anime, however.
In closing, Trigun is an excellent anime with an amazing depth of character and character growth. It's also a literal gold mine for those among us who like to psychoanalyze characters; Vash alone presents a headachey challenge. I even have a friend who made the overall "villain"---no, not Legato, the other one who's too spoilerific to say anything about---analyzed to the point where she sympathized with him completely and said he was "sweet". And she's almost convinced me of that, too. Trigun is not about ultimates of black and white: it's about the gray zones and real life. There are massive amounts of complex philosophies scattered throughout the show. Even Vash's "Love & Peace" theory has a lot more to it than you might expect. I highly recommend it with an A+ to all anime fans, even those who don't like humor too much, although then I'd recommend you mostly just watch from episode 12 onward. ^_^ But even so, Trigun is for the tormented, whimsical child in all of us–-the Vash in all of us.
Or those who just get a kick out of trauma.
"Let's live today. Let's live tomorrow. And let's live the day after that. ..even if that means living in eternal pain." The philosophy of life in a teacup, courtesy of Vash. | Contributions: Reviews: 1 |

Posts: 0 Score: 2 Rank: 377 | Trigun turned out to be such a great anime series right down from the characters to the story to everything!
Trigun starts out as many anime series do, a little more comedy and "fake" (trigun's face turns into a catlike face,. Episode 1) but around episode 8 it starts to take on a more serious tone.
The story is really great it starts out with a man being wanted by pretty much everyone and has 60,000,000,000 double dollars on his head, dead or alive. From there it takes many many twists and turns like how trigun can walk into a town and level it completly but not kill a single person and how you find out who Trigun really is and why hes so mysterious.
The characters other than Vash the Stampede are done pretty well Wolfwood is well developed and same with the Insurance girls (these are all main characters) although in the English DVD dub thier voices tend to get ennoying.
The action is GREAT!! but the first 4 episodes dont really treat you to much action, I dont think Vash even pulls his gun out until the 3 or 4th episode. But once you get to 9 Whoa!! it gets sweet. And Vash starts showing a darker side more often and it really is remenicent of Arucard in Hellsing.
I preferred this series slightly more than Cowboy Bebop only because the story continues where in Bebop there were to many fillers and the story wasnt as linear as it should have been | Contributions: Reviews: 2 |
